Ameliae Campbell is fairly old by vampire standards, and therefore is extremely powerful. She is controlled and calculating, and as her years as an immortal has dedicated herself to learning the cultures of the world. She can speak Latin, Gaelic (her human language), Italian, French, Spanish, German, Chinese, Japanese, and countless other languages. But, after immigrating to America at the start of the 1830's, she now speaks English with a slight Scottish accent. Over the years, she slowly rose up the vampire hierarchy and now is the leader of Coven Campbell, which prides itself for being covert and civilized.

Amy was turned when she was sixteen, so is often treated like a 16 year old until it is realized that she is an old vampire. Amy's maker was a roaming Highlander who stopped at her house during a storm, and turned her that night. During her first few decades as a vampire, she was a wild hunter, and became known for her ferocity. But, as she aged and left her maker, she changed her ways and became more discreet about her feeding. Now though, she is not remorseful about her wilder days as a young vampire.
