We've decided that it should be fairly modernized, because many people would not be able to connect with the medieval lifestyle and terminology. I mean, some people (Quin and I) would have noo trouble relating, but we thought that universally it would be easier if we kept it modern.

Yeah. I have always been rooting for medieval themes, but Quin has a point... We still have the Forest, though, which does seem to have many possibilities.

This hierarchy is why I love the lycans:
Alpha King: Ruler of the clan
Alpha Queen: Only second in command to the King, the Queen Lycan does more than most.
Alpha Prince: Being next in line for the throne unless disputed, this figure is groomed by the royal family in pack matters.
Alpha Princess: If they are the only child then their partnership with another will gain them control of the throne in the future upon their guardian’s death.
Beta Duke: Ruling second in command in the royal family, this position is one of respect
Beta Duchess: Also ruling in their partner’s leave, the Duchess is capable of doing the jobs necessary of the pack
Beta Duke (son): Groomed in clan matters for future ruling, this position requires a lot of study and hard work.
Beta Duchess (daughter): Depending on the guardians and size of family this character can either take more charge over their siblings or sit back and be pampered.
General: The character of this position takes care of matters of war
Captain: Providing more input on the subject of war,
Head of Records: Handling most paperwork that the pack must deal with
Scholar: Under the direction of the Head of Records, these characters also use their expertise in particular areas to their advantage.
Spy: A dangerous position, but important role in the pack.
The Hunters: Given permission by the Alphas and Betas, these characters do the actual ‘dirty work’ of the clan. They will hunt down and kill slayers, vampires, and others to solve problems and gain new territory.
The Providers: These characters are the ones that go out and catch food for the rest of the pack that needs human flesh.
The Preparers: These characters divide up the food into shares for each member by rank,
Cleaners: Members under this title clean the dens and make sure that everything is manageable.
Epsilons: This title is only available to elders of the pack near the end of their life.
Zeltas: These characters have slighter lower rank than those of job holding positions, but could still be considered the middle class in the pack.
Kappas: ‘Young’ Lycans that have little experience are placed here.
Sigmas: Fresh members to the pack are placed into this group.
Omegas: Few in number, these pack members are at the bottom of the barrel by either punishment or lack of experience.
Creatures: Sometimes even Lycans will own various species, however these chosen few are usually hearty and dangerous creatures that can be unpredictable.

Yes, that is all fine and dandy, but we need simplicity. Also, no lycans. Just werewolves and were animals. Which, btw, only have an Aplha male and an Alpha female, and that is the extent of the hierarchy. We need to keep things simple.

Oh, and we don't have clans. There are only Packs (for the weres and shifters) Covens (for more organized vampires), and Nests (more feral vampires). That's it. The end.

For Covens and Nests, there is usually one leader and a right hand, which is usually a trusted vampire or the leader's child.
